As a mark of gratitude and recognition for the selfless service and sacrifices by the veterans towards nation building, a Veterans’ Empowerment Rally is planned to be organised at Udaipur Military Station on 25 Mar 2018 with special emphasis on disabled soldiers and facilitating job opportunities for the veterans, veer naaris and their dependents.
Lt Cor Manish Ojha the Defence Spokesperson informed DU that the Rally will cover Udaipur, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Banswara, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara and Chittorgarh districts of Rajasthan with approximately 800 Veterans, Veer Naaris and their dependents are expected to attend. This region has traditionally been a major contributor towards recruitment into the Armed Forces and has been a home to a large number of Veterans.
The Veterans’ Empowerment Rally will commence from 10:00 AM on 25 Mar 2018 at Udaipur Military Station. Representatives from the Zila Sainik Board, Rajasthan Ex-servicemen Corporation, Records Offices of some Army Regiments alongwith officials from State Administration will also be present for the rally for awareness on various veteran specific schemes and for resolving of their pension related matter,Ojha said.
Assistance will also be provided in preparation of Ex-servicemen Health Contributory Scheme (ECHS) and CSD smart cards. In addition, a number of Corporate Houses ranging from Hospitality, Health, Education, Industrial, Security and Financing sectors will establish their information kiosks on employment opportunities to the deserving veterans and their dependents,Ojha added.
A Medical camp will also be organised with specialists who will attend to the health related problems of attendees.
