The special unit of anti corruption bureau of Udaipur has trapped a LDC and a contractual employee of Land Record Archives Department of Udaipur while they were accepting bribe amount of Rs.1.8 Lakhs for providing the land records of his ancestral house.
The arrested accused were identified as Mohan Lal Mundra the Lower Divison Clerck of Land Record Archives Department of Udaipur range and his co accused Laxmi Lal Soni a Contractual employee of the department, the duo was trapped by the ACB on Saturday for demanding and accepting the bribe amount from the victim Bhagwan Lal Soni against providing him the records of is ancestral house situated at Jagdish Chowk area of the city.
While talking to DNA victim Bhagwan Lal Soni informed that he was contacting the accused LDC from last 4 months to get the records of his ancestral house as those records were required as an evidence in connection to a case related to the property dispute between him and his cosuins.But the accused was ignoring him and was pressuring him to give an amount of Rs.5 Lakhs, later the amount was negotiated on Rs.1.8 lakhs, but before handing over the amount to the accused the victim filled a complaint to ACB officials on February 11th.
After verifying the complaint the team of Anti corruption bureu of Udaipur has trapped the Contractual employee of the Land record department Laxmi Lal Soni while he was accepting the bribe on the behalf of his colleague Lower Divisional Clreck Mohan Lal Mundra. Later Mundra was also nabbed by the ACB team for demanding the bribe, said Hanuwant Singh SHO Special Rajporuhit Unit of Anti Corruption Bureu.
Hanuwant further added that during the initial interogation both the accused are claiming that every time they accept bribe from any one they have share it with the Director of the Land Records Archives Department Dr. Mahendra Khargawat and Deputy Director Mahaveer Singh, however the series of claims are on but the things will get clear after the thorough investigation of the matter.
This is to considered that Land Record Archives Department deals with the various records of the ancients times (before independence), after independence its was situated inside the premises of King’s Castle but since 2009 it has been shifted to Sector .3 of Hiran Magri area.
The duo of accused were arrested and booked for taking bribe where as the investigation is still going on and the ACB team is now verifying the role of those officials whose names are revealed by the arrested accused, Hanuwant added.
