Soon after booking two men including a history sheeter under RAJPASA act the Udaipur police on Thursday arrested third men under the provisions of the act sent him under judicial custody.
Superintendent of Police Udaipur Kailash Chandra Bishnoi said that following the latest directions of the state government the police is identifying the criminals and the offenderals that are involved in heinous crimes and whose activities can be harmful for the society, in that series the team identified one Raju alias Rajkumar Meena (38), Raju is a history sheeter of Zawar Mines police station and a resident of Newa Talai village of Udaipur, he is having 30 criminal cases registered against him for serious crimes like assualt, bootlegging, illegal arms, loot and theft.
Veiwing his criminal history the police team decided that his action can be harmful for the society and following that a report has been presented to the district collector who on the basis of the report ordered to arrested the accused and booked him under section 3(1) of the Rajasthan Prevention Anti Social Activities Act 2006, he was later arrested on 26th February and was lodged to jail on collector’s order, SP said.
This is to be noted that with an intention to tighten the nose of the notorious criminals and to maintain peace the Udaipur police is carrying out special drives to identify those accused that can be threat to the society and booking them under sectionsof RAJPASA ACT, earlier too 2 criminals including a history sheeter Alam Khan were booked and lodged in jail under this act and Raju was the third in the list.
