SOG Udaipur busted Hawala racket,seized Rs 1.25 crores.

The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Udaipur police has busted an alleged Hawala racket and detained 3 persons and has also seized an amount Rs.1.25 crores from 2 cars on Tuesday.

The SOG team suspected the amount to be of Hawala network and also informed the income tax department about it.

Those detained  were identified as Mangi Jain(48) and Dhul Chand Jain (36) and Ramesh Kumar Jain (60) residents of Housing Board colony, Sector.14,Goverdhanvillas.

According to Subodh Jangid SOG in charge he got a tip off that a huge amount of hawala cash would come towards the city from Balicha in two cars, acting upon the information the SOG team took out a road a road barricading near Paras circle of the city, during the barricading first one duster car was caught from which 1 of the accused Mangi Lal was arrested with a bag containing 1.23 crores while  2 of the accused Dhul Chand and Ramesh were nabbed from another car and an an amount of Rs.2 lakhs were seized from their car following which the trio was detained and were rushed to SOG office Udaipur, the cash has been seized and the trio was under the course of questioning.

During the initial interrogation the suspects informed the SOG team that Ramesh among them is purchasing the house of one Dr. Uma Poruhit in Rs.2.45 lakhs at Goverdhanvilas 100 feet road and the cash was the token money for the deal.

Following that the SOG team seized the  cash and has also informed  the Income Tax Department about the incidence, Jangid added.
