Sisters went to Central Jail to tie Rakhis to their brothers.

While the entire city remained busy in the festivities of Raksha Bandhan  a group of women were seen waiting outside the Central Jail early on Thursday morning eagerly waiting to tie Rakhis to their brothers that are prisoners in Jail.


A long quo of women was seen all around the jail on Thursday with sweets and auspicious thread of Rakhi in their hands waiting to meet their brothers. After doing all the formalities of jail thse women were allowed to talk to their brothers in small sessions, they first interacted with them inside the nitration room of the jail and latter they were made to tie Rakhis to them from a small vent made by the jail administration by cutting one of the iron bar of the jail’s gate.

Previously the women were allowed to tie the Rakhi to their  brothers that were there iside the jail on every Raksha Bandhan but taking security reasons in concern the jail administration has made new arrangements this year where a woman can tie Rakhi to her brother without entering inside the  jail premises.


Brijesh Dixit Jailer of  Udaipur Central Jail said that the new arrangements were made by the Jail administration  seeing the safety of the Jail premises, this is more safe and convenient way of letting the sisters of the prisoners to tie them the Rakhis.

However amid tight security the sisters tied Rakhis to their brothers and in return brothers offered them what all they can give, this heart toughing scene can be seen every year on the eve of Raskha Bandhan at Udaipur.
