SOG Udaipur seizes 5.65 kilograms of Opium,arrests smuggler.

The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Udaipur on Tuesday seized 5.65 kilograms of opium from a car in a road barricading near Debari area of the city and had also arrested a man in connection with the crime.

SOG Inspector Abdul Rehman told DU that on Tuesday he received an information that a suspect was heading towards Udaipur from Madhya Paresh in a white carrying illegal arms with him.
Reacting in the information Rehman along with his team launched a road barricading at Debari area and nabbed a MP number car,but the police team that was expecting illegal arms in the car found a consignment of opium weighing around 5.65 kilograms inside the car,said Rehman.
Police has also arrested the driver of the car identified as Dashrath Singh of M.P for carrying the opium and also recovered Rs.16000 from his custody, the accused wqw booked under several sections of IPC and NDPS Act,the car,opium and cash has been seized,Rehman added.
During the intial interrogation the accused accepted procuring the opium from Mandsaur area of MP in Rs.85000 per kilograms.
Accused also informed the police that he was about to deliver the consignment of opium to Sanchore area in Jalore district, Rehman said.
The accused is however still under police interrogation and questioning him further about the nexus of opium smuggling.
