The second phase of the ambitious immunisation program ‘Mission Indradhanush ‘ has been started at Udaipur on Wednesday.
With the motive of immunising those newly born babies and pragenant women which remained unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and those were not been covered in routine immunisation Udaipur Medical and Health department has launched the immunisation program under the nation wide immunisation program called as Mission Indradhanush.
The program aims to immune them against seven threatening but vaccine preventable diseases.
Following the successful execution,public awareness and 100% achievement of the targets a press conference was organised by the Medical and Health department at M.B hospital of the city.
On the occasion while adressing the press the Superintendent of M.B hospital and Principal of RNT medical of Udaipur Dr.Lakhan Poswal said”It is a good opportunity for the newly born children and praganent women to get immune against life threating diseases.
He further said that all the vaccines that will be used under the program are safe and of good quality and it will be provide by proffesionally trained A.N.N and if in case some body receives it twice then too it is harmful for the health.
Cheif Medical Offcier Udaipur Dr.Dinesh Kharadi said that all the vaccines used under this program are available at government bodies free of cost,he told that the immunisation drive under this program will be carried out on first Monday December to March and on the very Monday more than 396 children and 155 pragenant women will be covered district wide and rest will be benefited on 6thJanuary,3rd February and 2nd March.
The IMI covers vaccines for diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, poliomyelitis, tuberculosis, measles, meningitis and Hepatitis B. Vaccines for Japanese encephalitis and hemophilus influenza are also being provided in selected areas.
The IMI 2.0 aims to achieve targets of full immunization coverage in 272 districts spread over 27 States. The IMI 2.0 will be carried out between December 2019 and March 2020.
