SDM’s reader held with bribe at Udaipur.

Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested the reader of the SDM office of Gogunda Block of the district for allegedly taking a bribe amount of Rs. 14000 on Thursday.

The accused Dharmesh Meghwal was posted at Sub- Divisional  Magistrate Office of Gogunda block as a Reader and had demanded the bribe from the victim  for mutation of his land,said Sudhir Joshi Additional Sp ACB.

According to Joshi the victim Devi Lal Paliwal a resident of Gogunda village owns a piece of land at Punawali Village of Gogunda block,it was his ancestral land and the matter was under consideration with Revenue departments,after getting department’s decision in his favour he presented s request of the mutation of that at SDM office,but the accused Reader has demanded bribe for his work.

Joshi said that the accused has demanded Rs.35000 from the victim for mutation of his agricultural land,unable to give the amount he refused his denand and later the dwal was locked on Rs 32000,following which he filled a complaint with ACB Udaipur in this connection.

Sleuth of ACB following the complaint laid a trap and arrested the accused with Rs.14000 cash, he had already taken Rs.18000 from the victim in two different Installments earlier, Joshi said.
The accused has been under sections of Anti Corruption Act and is still under interrogation, Joshi added.
