Four members of a inter state sandal wood smuggling gang has been arrested by the Dabok police on Saturday in a raid at a farm house situated at Dabok area, police had also seized around 3 quintal and 37 kilograms of sandal wood logs from the farm house, all the accused were booked under sections of IPC whereas the key accused and owner of the farm house fled from the crime scene.
SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal informed that the Dabok police on Saturday received information about a gang involved in cutting of sandal wood and smuggling to different areas from a farm house situated at Dabok.
Upon getting the information the police came in action and a team of Dabok police station has raised the farm house owned by one Imtiyaz Hussain from Ayad, during the road four accused including Nadeem Mohammed, Mohammed Ashraf from Ayad and two of their aids Dharma Gamti and Thavra Gameti from Nai were arrested from the farm house while they were busy in cutting and packing of the sandal wood logs, but the key accused Imtiyaz some how managed to flee from the scene,SP Goyal added.
According to the SP the arrested accused are all the members of an inter-state gang involved in sandal wood smuggling and are having various cases registered on their names at various police station of the city. However the sandal wood logs were seized by the cops and the arrested accused are still under police interrogation, but the key accused is still on run and his hunt is on, said SP Goyal.
