In a brazen broad day light robbery armed assilants looted Rs.19.72 lakhs from Madri Insdustrial area branch of Punjab National Bank at Udaipur in Monday.
The assliants reached at the branch in a four wheeler they barcked into the bank and decamped with Rs.19 lakhs kn only 60 seconds.
Upon getting the information Deputy Sp Rajiv Joshi rushed to the scene along with SHO Pratap Nagar police station Vivek Singh and his team and initiated an investigation of the matter.
They scanned the Cctv cameras installed at the bank premises,police found the footage in which assilants can be seen looting the cash,based upon the footage a hunt has been launched.
According to the police 5 armed assilants barcked into the bank 1.40 pm and pointed a gun at the bank staff members,they fired 1 bullets in air and took all the cash lying on the front counter of the bank and fled the scene.
According to the information there was around Rs.35 lakhs rupees cash lying at the bank, but the assilants that were kn hurry ccwn only snatch Rs.19.72 lakhs while left Rs.14 lalhs.
These sort of gangs targeting banks for cash are active these days in Rajasthan, in that series in a similar incidence a gang of robbers had looted cash from a bank at Chittorgarh district of Udaipur and also at Sikar.
Additional Sp Gopal Swaroop Mewara told HT” It was around 1.35 pm when as many as 5 assilants entered the PNB’s Madri Industrial Area Branch,they opened an air fire and took away Rs.19.72 lakhs,we have launched an investigation into the matter,conducting road checks at all tje exits of the district and have also taken the footages from the Cctv Camera of tje bank and based on that we are putting efforts to identify the accused “.
