Unidentified accused tried to rob the State Bank Of India (SBI) ATM located in Dabok area of Udaipur in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
The Station House Officer of Dabok Police Station Liladhar Malviya said that the burgalers attempt to rob the bank ATM but remained unsuccessful as they were unable to take out money from the machine.
Malviya said that incident occured in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
The accused broke the lock of the machine also caused damages to it but fled the scene they could take out money from it, Malviya added.
Maliya further said that an investigation has been started and the police would register a case against the unknown accused, FSL team also reached on the spot and had taken samples, while the police is also scanning the CCtv footages installed in the area.
He said that the machine is said to have an amount of rupees 10 to 12 lakhs in it, however the exact amount will be shared by the bank management.
Malviya highlighted that we have earlier also wrote to the bank staff to appoint a gaurd at their bank but was not considered and the outcome is the loot, the investigation is still on and we will soon arrest the accused he added.
In yet another incidence of loot that took place on the same night here at Kanore town of Udaipur where a group of 4 accused robbed a man for around Rs.2 crores.
The incidence took place at around 2 am on Monday night when 4 accused entered into the house of one Sohan Lal Kothari (70) while he was asleep, they caught hold him and looted around 14 lakhs rupees in cash and silver and gold ornaments of lakhs of rupees, it was when the victim shouted for help that the neighbors rushed for help and the accused fled the scene with the booty.
Later a team of police reached on the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.police has rounded up few suspects so far in relation to the incidence and questioning them further.
According the station house officer of Kanore police station Tej Singh Sandhu victim Sohan Lal stays alonne in the house located near the Public Health Center (PHC) as his sons work in a private company and stay in a seprate house, he use to lend money on intrest and also morgade their valuables, the accused who were reportedly 4 in numbers entered victim’s house from the backside while was sleeping, they tied him with cloths, beaten him up and looted around 14 lakhs rupees in cash and ornaments, utensils and other valuables of gold and silver from the house and fled away.
The estimated value of the loot is said to be around 2 crores however the victim has given his report with a a value of rupees1.25 crores, the investigation is still on, Sandhu added.
However with this major incidence of loot the people in the area are afraid with their security measures.
