After serving her probation period successfully in Kota and Bundi,Ranu came to Udaipur 2 years ago and since then she has been serving in the Mewar region. She joined here as DySP Girva in 2014.“ Usha Shamra the erstwhile collector of Bundi inspired me to enter into civil services” Ranu says with gratitude.
Ranu ‘s father worked with thePublic works Department,. Being the youngest of the family she was a pampered child who received much love and care not only from her parents but siblings.
Ranu’s elder sister is a leather designer, graduated from NIFT Delhi while her brother is a Rheumatologist and working with Fortis Jaipur.
Ranu had been involved in much of social welfare for the RAC Jawans during her posting in Bundi.
She opened a school for the children of the sex workers living in a slum adjoining to her office at Bundi.
Ranu’s special area of interest have been community policing and upliftment of women. Dance and cookery are her hobbies and she takes much delight in cooking various delicacies for loved ones and friends who often drop in during her leisure time.
Ranu have been instrumental in solving typical crime mysteries and have busted various sex rackets operating in and around Udaipur city.
Ranu finds Udaipur a pleasant and safe compared to other places.
She says Udaipur is a paradise with helpful and enterprising people around, a place where she feels at home and leave back her daughters without any concern while away from them. A mother of two lovely daughters, Ranu has a message for the youth- Donot forget your responsibility towards your family and society.
Ranu finds her latest posting at ATS a challenging but at the same time an interesting task offering her new lessons of policing and helping the community.
