IIM Udaipur is all set to host its Entrepreneurship Summit- 2020
The event will be hosting industry leaders to talk about the future of entrepreneurship in India
February 6, 2020, Udaipur:In the post-1991 reform era, eased regulations and access to capital enabled the first-generation entrepreneurs, like Narayana Murthy of Infosys, to become the agents of change for the Indian Economy.
The digital transformation,led by FAANG (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google) as popularly known, witnessed in the past decade heralded renewed focus on developing the domestic startup ecosystem.
As per the report of NASSCOM nearly 10000 companies across more than 20 sectors were incepted in India during 2014-19 out of which 24 are well-funded unicorns like OLA, Bigbasket, Rivigo, Dream11 and can create 1.5 million direct and indirect jobs by 2025.
IIM Udaipur’s E-Summit:
Management schools in India are emerging as the breeding grounds for startups, especially Unicorns, by creating an enabling environment in terms of curricula and bringing together key enablers of the ecosystem.
Entrepreneurship is one of the core values of IIM Udaipur, and the institute is committed to nurturing future leaders and entrepreneurs who will power their organisations, create innovations in products and services in the emerging economies.
In this context, IIM Udaipur is hosting its first Entrepreneurship Summit under the theme ‘The last 67 Strides’ on 8 February 2020.
Even as India is rapidly enhancing its startup ecosystem, it still needs to climb 67 positions to top the Global Entrepreneurship Index, an indicator of the overall entrepreneurial potential of a nation.
The keynote speakers Siddharth Rajhans (Principal Policy Officer, United Nations | Founder, Spacify Inc.), Nirmala Sankaran (Co-founder, HeyMath), Revathi Roy (Co-founder & CEO, Hey DeeDee) will throw light on how to shape the entrepreneurship landscape and leapfrog to the top league.
The event is supported by a network of corporates, incubators, media partner including Secure meters, Yesbank, Tie Udaipur, Skwerup and Startupoasis.
