The city Police on Saturday arrested a History Sheeter from the jungles of Sarada district of Udaipur for being involved in various cases of vehicle lifting , police had also seized 7 two wheelers from the arrested accused so far.His arrest was a part of the anti vehicle lifting drive being launched by SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal with aim to curb the increasing incidences of two wheeler and 4 wheeler lifting incidences in the city.
The arrested accused was Identified as Anil Aka Annu Meena(25) a resident of Nimboda Village of Sarada district, the accused is having two dozen criminal cases registered on his name and a History Sheeter of Sarada police station, said Dr. Hanuman Singh Rajporuhit SHO Pratap Nagar police station.
During the Anti Vehicle lifting drive the Pratap Nagar SHO got an information that Anil who recently came out of Salumbar jail on bail is having his involved in vehicle lifting incidences and had picked several two wheelers from different parts of the district, upon getting the information about Anil police launched a hunt for his arrest and started collecting information about his where about, on 17th November received an information about the accused hiding at an isolated place at Sarada, reacting on the information a team of police led by SHO Rajporuhit raided the hideout of the accused at Sarada and arrested him from there and later recovered 7 two wheelers from him, said SHO Rajporuhit.
During his initial interrogation accused has accepted picking two wheelers from various areas of the district, he has been booked under various sections of IPC.
Police is however interrogating him further in relation to the vehicle lifting racket and also putting efforts to recover more vehicles from him which was being lifted by him.
