One more step has been taken towards value addition to the lake City Udaipur on Friday as the Forest Minister Raj Kumar Rinwa and the Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria together laid the foundation stone of country’s first Bird Park to be developed at the Gulab Bagh amusement of the city.
On this occasion that occasion both ministers were accompanied by the Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena and various local politicians and party of the ruling party.
Seeking a quick start to the project Kataria said that the people are having a strong memories of Gulab Bagh Zoo that is recently shifted at the Sajjangarh Biological Park, the initiative to develop the premises of the Gulab Bagh as a bird park is taken by the Government with a motive to keep the memories of the people alive and for the optimum utilization of the area. Under this project Central Government has sanctioned an amount Rs. 11 carores for the development of one of its kind park that will soon attracts local as well as the International tourist.
An amount of Rs 1.75 carores has been contributed in the project by both Udaipur Municipal Corporation and Urban Improvement Trust and rest of the amount was provided by the Central Government, Kataria added.
Kataria added that the idea of developing Gulab Bagh as a bird park was under pipeline since last year, sessions of discussion were held between the Forest Minister and other officials during which they requested him to take permission for the project from the Government, after putting lots of efforts finally the project has been sanctioned by the government and has been allotted Rs 11 carores as a budget for its development.
The Udaipur Municipal Corporation has been selected as the working agency for the project and its will be completed till the end of this year, Kataria said.
Raj Kumar Rinwa while addressing the media said that Udaipiur is already famous for it’s beautiful sights and lakes, the development of such a unique park at the mid of the city will also bring an increase in tourism. The Maps has been prepared and different that will work on the project has already arrived Udaipur and the it’s work will be completed soon.
When asked about the shifting of Tiger-24 Rinwa said “ I have said that Ustad will be shifted to his habitat once he will be healthy, now he is healthy but there is no change in his behavior, so he decision for shifting cannot taken now”.
After reaching at Udaipur Rinwa has took meeting of the officials of Forest and Mining Department at the conference hall of the Circuit House, during the meeting he instructed them to conserve the forest water under the CM Jal Swawlamban Abhiyan as conservation of water at the forest areas will not only keeps the forest green but also helps the wild animals to get sufficient amount of water.
Many prominent officials of forest department including Rahul Bhatnagar, Chief Forest COnsevator Dr. S.S Choudhary, Shikha Mehra, Director of Mining Department Dr. D.S Maroo and Additional Director Mining Jitendra Upadhyay were present in the meeting.
