Goverdhan Vilas police station of Udaipur in the second session of its drive distributed special senitary kits to more than 600 school girls living in the nearby tribal areas and are poor and needy during the lockdown.
Recently during its first session the cops along with the representatives of NGO Gunj has distributed these specially prepared senitary kits among 150 tribal school girls as well as needy women.
According to the Station House Officer of Goverdhan Vilas police station Chenaram Pachar the team of the police station was preparing the list of essential items when the idea of sanitary pads came. Meanwhile the representatives of Gunj NGO also approached the SHO for the cause and toghter they decided to distribute the sanitary pads along with other items to the tribal women and school girls facing a major problem during lockdown.
SHO Chenaram told DU” As we all know that everything was at a stake due to lockdown, but the needy persons were getting food, grocery items and other things amid that we have learnt about the problems of the tribal girls living at villages like Kaya, Kundal, Barapal that they were facing in the absence of sanitary nepkins which essential product for females, we shared the problems with SP Kailash Chandra Bishnoi who later on coordinated with NGO Gunj and the camp was than organized and will continue in future”.
This special kit contains packets of Senitary Napkins, school bags, soaps, face masks and other cosmetic items, on Tuesday these kits were handed over to around 600 tribal females including school girls, widows and handicap women.
On this occasion besides distributing the sanitary kits the SHO Chenaram provided tips to stay healthy and to maintain self hygine and to boost up the immunity during this pandemic period of Covid-19 disease.
Apart from that Deputy Sp Prem Dhande also educated the females specially the school girls to speack frankly about the crime against women and also how to convey it to the department through the correct medium.
