The Anti Corruption Bureau of Pratapgarh on Monday held a Assistant Engineer (A. En) of Electrical department of Udaipur while he was accepting Rs. 10000 as bribe here at his office located at Madri Industrial area.
The accused A.En Mukesh Gupta have demanded the bribe amount from the complainant Vishnu Suthar for approving a new Solar Plant andvalso to increase the capacity of another such plant.
Gupta was held by the ACB team outside his office.
Additional SP ACB Pratapgarh Goverdhan Lal Khathik informed that the complainant Vishnu Suthar a resident of Kheroda village of Udaipur have given a request to the accused A.En at his AVVNL office located at Madri Industrial area for approving the Solar Plant and to increase its capacity to 20 KV, but accused AEn initially demanded an amount of Rs15000 do that and later the deal was locked on Rs. 10000 after negotiations.
The accused asked the victim Vishnu to bring the money outside his office, when Vishnu went at his office with the demanded amount he took it from him and put it inside the dashboard of his car, but at the same time the ACB team of Pratapgarh caught him red handed, Khathik added.
He was booked under various provisions of Provision of Corruption ACT and he is still under interrogation.
