Udaipur police on Tuesday arrested a five member gang that were planning robbery in the district. Police have also seized a country made pistol, a sword, packets of red chilly powder, 8 mobile phones’ and some tool from the custody the accused.
The arrested accused were identified as Laxman Alias Pappu,Gameti,Kaluram alias Raj Dakout,Naresh alias Naru Meena,Kailash alias Chotu Gameti and Ambalal Alias Anil Meena.
By giving information about the incidence the Station House Officer of Ghasa police station Indu Bala Sharma said” We have received an information from our sources that some suspicious people who were possibly carrying weapons were sitting at the Radason Mata Temple and were planning to a commit a robbery at the nearby Branch of State Bank of India located at Palna area of Ghasa village, following the information a raid was conducted at the Temple but by seeing the police the accused attempted to escape but police team of Ghasa police station some how encircled them and arrested them”.
The accused were found in possession of a country made pistol( Desi Katta), a sword, chilli powder, tools and mobile phone which they would use to execute the robbery, police team has also confiscated few motor bikes from scene, Sharma added.
During the interrogation the accused have revealed that they were up to commit a robbery at the Palna branch of SBI and were making plan to execute the same.
Besides that the accused also confessed of committing crimes like two wheelers lifting ,four lifting,loot,Mobile phones theft ,pick pocketing and assault at various areas of Udaipur, Rajsamand and Bhilwara districts.
We are further interrogating them further if the gang committed robbery earlier too at any of the bank, all were booked under sections of IPC and the weapons and other equipments were also seized, said Sharma.
