Udaipur police arrests an accused absconding since 2 years.

Akhtar Alias Assu of Kuthiyo Ki Gwadi area of the city who was wanted since 2014 under the case of demanding extortion from a local businessman was finally arrested by the cops on Monday, he was absconding since last 2 years and is having more than a dozen of criminal cases registered on his name at various police station of the district including serious crimes like murder, attempt to murder, loot, chain snatching and assault.
Assu is a member of Ayub Lala gang of Pratapgarh and is also wanted under Parvat Angana’s murder case of Pratapgarh district.
Sp Rajendra Prasad Goyal informed the media that the accused Assu was nabbed by the police under his drive initiated by him for the arrest of all the those accused that are on run since a long time.
The cops were searching Assu since a local businessman Chandra Prakash Agerwal of Dhanmandi has lodged a complaint against him for allegedly demanding an extortion money of Rs. 2 lakhs from him. On Monday the cops investigating team comprising of Mohammed Farukh, Razzaq Mohammed and Akram Khan of Dhan Mandi police station got a tip that Akram would arive at Udaipol Bus stand on a motor bike,upon getting the information the team raided the area and had nabbed the accused as soon as he reached there, Sp Goyal.
Sp further added that Akhtar is notorious criminal and is still under police interogation, police is now hoping of getting more details from him about the rackets involved in chain snatching, loot and other crimes.
