The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Udaipur held a Principal of a government school while he was accepting bribe amount of Rs.8500 from a milk supplier on Tuesday.
The accused was demanding a commision of Rs.8500 from the victim over the supply of milk at the school for students under the Annapurna Doodh Yojna.
Deputy SP ACB Rajeev Joshi told DU that victim Heera Lal Shrimali use to supply milk to the government school of Tekri area of Udaipur under government’s ‘Annapurna Dudh’ scheme for students, but the Principal of the school accused Ghamer Lal has demanded Rs.8500 from Shrimali as commision against senctioning his bills of the milk supplied,the bill was amounting around Rs.25000 and its 25% is eqaul to Rs.8500.
Fed up with the demands of the accused the victim milk supplier approached ACB, he filled a complaint against him, upon getting the victim’s complaint ACB launched an investigation and nabbed the accused red handed on Tuesday while he was accepting the bribe amount of Rs.8500 from the victim, Joshi added.
The accused has been booked under sections of Anti Corruption Act and IPC, he is still under interrogation and a house search at his residence is also on,Joshi said.
However the arrest of the Principal for accepting bribe points fingers on the future of country as if teachers will be corrupt what will they teach the students, apart from that it also higights the level of corruption in the system.
The Annapurna Doodh Yojna has been launched in the state by CM Vasundhara in June, this scheme will provide a glass of milk to atleast 65 students enrolled in primary and upper primary schools.
